VENDOR CATEGORIES
Please click the arrow and review the following categories to determine your vendor tier. Selection is based on business structure, product origin (resale vs. handmade), and student status. Valid identification is required for all student rates.

Fees shown is per event. New Vendors if chosen, will be subjected to a one time $25 application fee or $5 application fee for student vendors.
1. Corporate & Established Business
Large Enterprise / Corporation — $200
Who is this for? Major brands, franchises, and established market leaders.
Definition: Select this tier if your business is a large-scale operation, a national or international chain, or a franchise owner. This includes businesses with a significant regional presence, multiple physical locations, or recognized household brand names.
SME, Startup, & Local Independent Business — $150
Who is this for? Resellers, service providers, and B2B entrepreneurs.
Definition: Designed for Small-to-Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and local independent businesses. This tier applies if you are reselling goods (e.g., vintage, thrift, imported products), operating a service-based business (e.g., consulting, marketing agencies), or are a startup seeking business-to-business connections.
Note: If you hand-make your own inventory, please apply under the "Artisan" category.
2. The Maker Market
Artisan / Creator Vendor — $100
Who is this for? Independent artists, crafters, and makers.
Definition: This category is exclusively for independent vendors who design and create their own products. To qualify, your inventory must be primarily 90% handmade original creations (e.g., art prints, pottery, handmade jewelry, knitwear, small-batch consumables).
Restriction: Items must not be mass-produced or resold from third-party wholesalers.
3. Student Entrepreneurs
(Valid Student ID from any accredited secondary or post-secondary institution required)
Student SME / Local Business — $50
Definition: Open to any current Secondary or Post-Secondary student. This tier is for students running a business based on resale (thrift/vintage), imports, or services.
Student Artisan / Creator — $30
Definition: Open to any current Secondary or Post-Secondary student who designs and creates their own products. To qualify, your inventory must be primarily 90% handmade. This discounted rate supports student makers selling handmade or original goods. (e.g., art prints, pottery, handmade jewelry, knitwear)
6. Community & Non-Profit Organizations
Non-Profit Vendor (2SLGBTQIA+ Support Programs) — Free of Charge
Who is this for? Organizations offering specific support for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
Definition: We offer a waived fee for non-profit organizations that provide direct support, resources, or advocacy specifically for the 2SLGBTQIA+, BIPOC, Indigenous community.
UMSU Student Organizations — Free of Charge
Who is this for? Recognized UMSU student clubs and associations.
Definition: For official University of Manitoba Students' Union organizations.
Note: Availability is limited; spots are granted on a first-come, first-served basis (while space lasts).
7. Food & Beverage Services (Commission-Based Tiers)
Food Trucks & Mobile Kitchens
Fee: 10% of Net Sales
Who is this for? Self-contained mobile food units, trailers, and trucks.
Definition: This tier is for vendors operating out of a licensed mobile vehicle.
Payment Terms: There is no upfront registration fee. Vendors agree to pay 10% of net sales (Total Revenue minus taxes and tips) following the conclusion of the event.
Prepared Food & Beverage Stalls
Fee: 10% of Net Sales
Who is this for? Pop-up food stalls, beverage carts, and specialty snack vendors.
Definition: Designed for vendors selling food or drinks intended for immediate consumption (e.g., coffee carts, pastry stands, lemonade stalls) that operate from a booth or table rather than a truck.
Payment Terms: There is no upfront registration fee. Vendors agree to pay 10% of net sales (Total Revenue minus taxes and tips) following the conclusion of the event.
Food Vendor Requirements
Permits: Valid Health & Food Safety Permits from the Province of Manitoba are mandatory.
Insurance: Proof of Commercial General Liability insurance.
Sales Reconciliation: Vendors must provide a Sales Report (Z-Report or POS Summary) within 48 hours of the event. An invoice for the 10% commission will be issued based on these figures.
Self-Sufficiency: Food trucks must provide their own silent generators unless power hookups are specifically arranged in advance.
8. University of Manitoba Specials
(Must be a current student with a valid University of Manitoba Student ID Card required, booths must be manned by the student applicant or other students from the University of Manitoba)
UofM Student SME / Local Business — $40
Definition: A subsidized rate strictly for currently enrolled University of Manitoba students. This tier applies to UofM students running a business based on resale, imports, or services.
UofM Student Artisan / Creator — $20
Definition: Our most subsidized rate, designed to support the creative talent within the University of Manitoba student community. This applies strictly to UofM students who design and create their own products. To qualify, your inventory must be primarily 90% handmade. (e.g., art prints, pottery, handmade jewelry, knitwear)
